4TH ANNUAL MG HERO RUN 5K AND COMMUNITY EVENT
Who Are You Running For?
This event, conceived by MGKW and MGCares and supported by numerous businesses with proud military affiliations, is a collaborative effort involving the Nixa Education Foundation, The City of Nixa, and over 20 local business sponsors. Beyond being a 5K run, it's a heartfelt fundraising initiative, with all proceeds aimed at benefiting the local children of active and retired military personnel. Furthermore, it provides our community with a unique opportunity to pay tribute to its own heroes.Last year, this event raised an impressive $6,500 in scholarship funds, which were fully awarded to deserving local Nixa Seniors and one of our esteemed local military heroes graduate. With your support, we're eager to surpass this achievement in the upcoming year. Your participation will make a significant difference, and we can't wait to see the positive impact we can create together this year!
An event for the whole family!!!What can you expect at this year's Hero Run 5K and community event:Besides our boot camp inspired 5K complete with 6 different battle stations along the route.....a bustling "vendor village" featuring local vendors, an exciting sponsored kids area filled with activities and giveaways, a poignant "warriors wall" dedicated to honoring our fallen heroes, and introducing a brand-new addition this year called "The Chicken Run" – a lighthearted run/walk event tailored for those who might find the full 5K a bit challenging.
The Nixa Hero Run 5K stands as a cornerstone of our community, a testament to our commitment to raising awareness and expressing gratitude to our local active and retired military personnel, veterans, and their cherished families and friends.
5K EVENT DETAILS: THERE WILL BE PAIN!!!
ROUTE BATTLE STATIONS :
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED IF YOU HAD WHAT IT TAKES???
Every half mile along the route.....there will be 6, drill sergeant led, stations set up with boot camp type exercises to challenge your mind and your body. Each battle station is marked with signs with instructions for the workout and manned by experienced military service member.
It won't be fun.
It won't be easy.
It will be one of the hardest things you have ever done!

TIMELINE OF EVENTS
Date: November 11th 2023
Location: 701 N Taylor Way Nixa, Mo
Setup begins at 6:30 a.m.
Sponsors get there no later than 7:30 a.m.
Contestants show up as early as 8:00 a.m. for registration (cutoff is 9:00)
Opening Ceremony begins at 9:00 am
Band plays national anthem
Color guard performance- JROTC
5K Race Starts at 9:30 am
Fun Run Starts at 10:30am
Award ceremony following both races
Take down begins at 12:00
Rain day will be determined if we get rained out.
Rules for event:
Each participant must stay on the designated route
Each participant should complete all designated exercises along the route. This is meant to be hard and challenge you.
Everyone will meet at the finish line upon completion of your run to cheer on the other participants. No man left behind.

Individual $40 and $45 week of event and $50 day of the event

Nixa High School Senior Scholarship
ALL of proceeds from our 5k will be developed into a scholarship for one Nixa High School senior student who currently has, or has had in the past, an active duty military parent or parents. We are taking this opportunity to say "thank you" from the bottom of our hearts as a community to the family who sacrificed so much so that we may continue to enjoy the rights and freedoms that we have as United States citizens and proud residents of Nixa, Missouri.
